The Department of English has been in existence since the inception of the College in 1947. We have been offering courses in English continuously throughout the last 75 years and have enabled countless students to progress to the workplace with confidence in their English language ability.

The English degree programme, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English for Professional Communication, was launched in September 2012. It was successfully re-validated in January 2017 and revamped in August 2021. Starting from 2023-24, the programme is entitled “Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Studies”. It will continue to attract students interested in the English language and in the employment opportunities that its mastery enables.
