The Department of English offers a 4-year honours degree programme in English Studies. This English programme develops traditional skills in English language and culture and provides professional training in English for specific purposes. It aims to enable students to communicate with high-level of English proficiency in a variety of professional contexts.
The Department of English is also the provider of College-wide English language courses and other English enhancement initiatives. Currently, our Department offers Freshman English, taken by all Year 1 students, as well as English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses, provided to the Business and Engineering faculties.
